31 Days of Halloween- Day 15: Opera

After recommending Opera in my FFR for this week, I decided to watch it again since it's been a while.

Betty, a young singer, gets her big break when the lead in an opera is injury and she has to fill her space. Betty rocks out her first night which triggers a crazed fan to murder the people in her life. The killer likes an audience so he ties Betty up and put needles by her eyes so she can't close them while he kills.

Sick shit right?! Well, it's kinda awesomely twisted as well.

Argento's trademark style of giallo, Goblin songs (playing at inappropriate moments) and animals attacking shines through in this film.

My favorite last effort from Argento. Great pick.

Even though the ending is a little strange I do think this is Argento's last masterpiece. Although I have liked a lot of his more recent efforts this is the last one he made I thought was genius.
