31 Days of Halloween- Day 30: Paranormal Activity 2

Finally things slowed down enough for me to get my ass to the theater and catch the follow up prequel/sequel to Paranormal Activity.

So the first movie terrified me. I went in not knowing one stitch of information about the movie. I literally thought I was going to a special screening for some A&E show were over-reactors run around a "haunted" house with cameras all "What's that!?" "What's that sound!" "OMGZ it just got cold in here!"

Thankfully that was not the case and it was an actual move about a couple documenting their experiences being haunted by a demon.

Paranormal Activity 2  takes place before the haunting of the couple in the first movie. Katie's sister Kristi and her family start experiencing strange things in their home after their son Hunter is born.

After what appears to be a break-in to their home, the family decides it's best to secure the home with surveillance cameras to catch any future predators.

As time ticks by the only thing caught on tape is freaky occurrences that happen in their home.

The story surrounds Kristi and like Katie, it has been something that has been following them since their childhood. Hunter seems to be the main target for the demon and it's goal is to get the family out of the way so it can jack him.

As I damn near shit myself after the first movie, this second one was just as equally creepy. I'm slightly grateful that I saw this in the morning instead of late at night.

I think a lot of sequels, especially in the horror genre, have a slightly weak direction when trying to live up to the popularity of the first movie.

PA 2 did an amazing job not only filling in fragments of what was in the first movie, but managed to pull off a full circle story as if this was always supposed to be a two-part story.

I'm happily not disappointed in this sequel and just as happy that I didn't shit myself.
